What is the difference between an FBI & SLED criminal background check?

I have a copy of my criminal background from the fbi & sled. Some things that are on my fbi record isn't on my sled & some on my sled isn't on my fbi

The SLED is just the state of South Carolina, where the FBI is the aggregation of states that submit to the NCIC (National Crime Information Center). This is a perfect example of how background checks differ, even when both are prepared by the government. It is up to each individual agency, police department and/or court to submit their records to the state (SLED), then it is up to SLED to submit their records to the FBI. This is why these reports are generally not the best method of obtaining a background check for employment purposes.

Does bankruptcy show on a criminal background check in Indiana?

I am volunteering to work with kids and, as they should, they are a running a criminal and medical background check. I'm just a little ashamed about an unavoidable bankruptcy from 5 years ago and wondered if that will show up on this too.

Bankruptcy is not a crime, so it shouldn't so up — unless they are doing a credit check in addition to the criminal check.

What if you are dating a married man and he won't get his divorce?

I am in a situation I should not be in. I started dating this guy a long time ago. He left his wife and moved in with his mom. We got serious and he later moved in with me. He tells me we are going to get married, but I don't know for sure if I want to anymore. It's going on 14 years now and nothing has changed. Should I get out now?
